Us |
OVERVIEW:
Options for Independence is a 501(c)3 nonprofit
social service organization established in 1992 to provide
services to
children and adults with disabilities.
MISSION:
The mission of Options for Independence is to assist people
to live and work in the community of their choice.
We serve
children and
adults with disabilities to include people with developmental
disabilities, serious menta
l illness or emotional disturbance,
homelessness, chronic unemployment, physical disabilities,
alcohol and substance
abuse challenges and people affected
by disasters.
SERVICES OFFERED:
We provide service coordination, counseling, life skills
training, employment services, substance abuse prevention
and treatment,
disaster recovery services, emergency food, shelter and
outreach through service contracts with
state and federal
agencies. We
provide the services directly to individuals and families
and connect them to
community resources as needed.
COVERAGE AREA:
We serve the following parishes: Terrebonne – Lafourche – Assumption – St.
Mary
St. James – St. John the Baptist – St. Charles
